Gordon Ramsay‘s Cornish mansion that he sold for a record £7.5million is set to be gutted by its new owner with plans submitted for a new pool complex, yoga studio and kitchen in the beach-side property.

Dominic Murphy, co-head of UK Investments at CVC Capital Partners, bought the 2.5-acre site in Trebetherick, Cornwall, from the multi-Michelin starred chef in March 2021.

The investment banker is on the board of the holding company that owns high street pharmaceutical chain Boots, Walgreens Boots Alliance, which was worth £33.7 billion in February 2022.

Believed to be the most expensive sale ever recorded in the county, Gordon paid just £4.4m for the property in 2016.

However, Mr Murphy is understood to be undertaking a mass renovation project, likely to cost tens of thousands of pounds, that will see a number of new additions – including a changes to the Ramsay’s former kitchen.

Planning documents submitted to Cornwall Council describe the works as an ‘extension to form a garage, workshop and yoga studio’.

They add: ‘Single story living room extension to main house and replacement of existing external swimming pool with new pool, pool house including plant room / changing rooms and terrace.’

The main house will also receive a single-story extension to the living room covered with a green roof.

Ramsay’s old pool will be replaced with an entirely new area, which will also include a pool house, a plant room, changing rooms and a terrace.

These will be finished in natural stone, slate hanging and timber weatherboarding, finished with a green roof.

The new owner is also adding a new parapet wall and a lantern light to replace the sloped roof of the TV chef’s old kitchen.

He will be extending the balcony of what appears to be the master bedroom, too.

Ramsay’s family, including Strictly sensation Tilly, 22, spent time at his sprawling pad during the first 2020 Lockdown.

The Hell’s Kitchen star is estimated to be worth £157 million, taking home £42 million each year from his restaurants and TV work.

He owns 12 bars and restaurants in London alone, including flush venues at the Savoy Hotel, Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Chelsea.

The new pool complex will feature a two story 15-metre-tall pool house alongside a sunken firepit, outside showers, an external dining area and a brand new pool.

On the ground floor the building features a plant room, changing rooms and two toilets alongside a sprawling open plan layout.

Ramsay once owned three sprawling properties across the country, but the sale of his Trebetherick home brings him down to his final Cornwall home in Rock.

He previously put his Fowey home, which was on the site of a former bank, up for sale for £2.75million in 2020.

The star spent time with his wife Tana, 47, and three of their five children – Jack, 22, Tilly, 20, and Oscar – in Cornwall during the Covid lockdown.

But in March, Gordon was slammed for saying he ‘can’t stand’ Cornish people as he reignited his war with neighbours surrounding his holiday home.
